Abstract
I. Evidence is given in support of the view that the amino-acid molecule does possess the zwitterion and not the classical structure. The titration curves of amino-acids were made in the presence of increasing concentrations of HCHO.[long dash]II. By the above method, it was possible to determine which are the basic and which are the acid components of the titration curves. The authors suggest that new formulae must be ascribed to certain of the amino-acids. [rho]-Aminophenol and [rho]-amino-benzoic acid were shown to exist as non-zwitterions.This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
