Infra-red reflection spectra of adsorbed CO on copper

Abstract
Reflection i.-r. absorption spectra of CO adsorbed on thick film copper mirrors at room temperature show a narrow band at 2105 cm–1 accompanied by a broad band at 2092 cm–1. The relative intensities of these bands are variable for films deposited in ultra-high vacuum conditions. The dependences of absorption on angle of incidence and plane of polarization are in qualitative agreement with the theoretical predictions of Greenler.
