$e^{+} e^{-}$ annihilation into baryon-antibaryon pairs

Abstract

Using generalized-vector-dominance-model-type form factors we calculate the

e^{+} - e^{-}

production cross sections for the reactions

e^{+} e^{-} \to B_{{\frac{1}{2}}^{+}} {\bar{B}}_{{\frac{1}{2}}^{\pm}}

,

B_{{\frac{1}{2}}^{+}} {\bar{B}}_{{\frac{3}{2}}^{\pm}}

,

B_{{\frac{1}{2}}^{+}} {\bar{B}}_{{\frac{5}{2}}^{+}}

, and

B_{{\frac{3}{2}}^{+}} {\bar{B}}_{{\frac{3}{2}}^{+}}

including all prominent baryon resonances at energies of present and planned

e^{+} - e^{-}

storage-ring machines. The calculated cross sections indicate that the interference of direct and one-photon decay of the

ψ

particles into baryon pairs is small.
