Abstract
Pregnant NMRI mice, injected with phenobarbital showed a high fetal loss. This effect was stronger the earlier the injections were begun during pregnancy and the higher the dosage. No malformations were encountered. The danger of judging teratogenicity of a drug from experiments showing fetal wastage is stressed. Keywords
