Abstract
A simple and rapid radioimmunoassay for determination of testosterone in peripheral plasma is described. A crude extract of the plasma is assayed directly without chromatography using an antiserum raised against testosterone-3-(carboxymethyl) oxime-bovine serum albumin. Accuracy and precision are satisfactory. Specificity is sufficient for the most purposes as has been demonstrated by comparison with a radioimmunoassay including chromatography.
