Abstract
Two methods are given for estimating future demand for durable goods. Both require detailed information on past consumer purchasing behavior but not on future intentions. The first method considers the different segments of the total market, and the second deals with household preferences and priority patterns. The replacement component of the market is considered in terms of a life distribution.Keywords
