Abstract
A description is given of the technic used for the detn. of dehydroisoandrosterone (DHA) in urinary extracts by means of the author''s modified H2SO4 reaction. When the amt. of DHA is 1 mg. or more per 24-hr. urine, fairly accurate detns. could be carried out when using a color correction graph based on the extinction values at 530 and 570 m[mu]. The detn. of smaller amts. of DHA requires purification of the extracts by chromatography. The following technic is recommended The extract is passed through a column of aluminium oxide (Brock-mann), and elution performed with CCl4 in several fractions and with increasing amts. of ethyl ether.
