Gross Structure and1d-Shell Nuclei

The available high-resolution data for ($1d, 2s$)-shell nuclei suggest that the requirements necessary for valid interpretation of gross-structure measurements are not met. As specific examples the data for ${\mathrm{Mg}}^{27}$, ${\mathrm{Al}}^{28}$, ${\mathrm{P}}^{32}$, and ${\mathrm{S}}^{33}$ are discussed. There is also limited evidence of similar difficulties in the $1f$ shell.
