Abstract
The breeding success parameters of 2 colonies of great egrets were measured. The egrets in Mexico and New Jersey had similar clutch sizes. The Mexican birds suffered a greater amount of egg mortality while the New Jersey birds suffered greater chick mortality. Predation was the major cause of chick mortality in New Jersey. Growth rates were the same for the 2 colonies and did not differ as a function of chick hatch order. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
