Abstract
The absorption spectrum of the ferroelectric guanadine aluminium sulphate hexahydrate containing trivalent chromium, has been measured between 12 000 cm−1 and 25 000 cm−1. The polarization properties of some of the lines have been investigated. A discussion of the spectrum is given in terms of ligand field theory. Keywords
