Keratoconus in the mentally retarded

Abstract
Among 212 institutionalized mentally retarded, there were 16 patients with keratoconus (7.5%). Eight of the keratoconus cases were unilateral. The possible role of eye rubbing as well as other etiological factors are discussed.Keywords
