Abstract
A position-sensitive scintillation detector (PSD) for thermal neutrons has been constructed. Using a /sup 6/LiI scintillator and a linear arrangement of rectangular photomultipliers, a spatial resolution of 0.5 mm has been achieved. With a dedicated hardwired computer, data are processed within 1 mu s and the differential linearity has been improved. The gamma -sensitivity is drastically reduced in comparison with /sup 6/Li glass scintillator detectors. Keywords
