Abstract
Much research documents the failure of discharged psychiatric patients to stay on recommended treatment regimens. In an effort to address this problem, and to decrease the rate of readmissions to the hospital, Logansport State Hospital in 1985 established patient medication education groups, conducted by nurses, in all of its patient care units. Today these groups continue as a successful therapy offered at the hospital. Keywords
