Abstract
Dermatoglyphic patterns were studied in 8 Mexican Indian groups in regard to total ridge count, type of pattern in each finger, pattern intensity, atd angle, and a–b ridge count. The results were compared with other studies in Mexico and abroad. It was concluded that dermatoglyphics are not as efficient in characterizing human populations as other genetic markers. Keywords
