The Abundance and Control of Flies on a College Campus

Abstract
Records of the kinds and abundance of flies taken during a fly-control campaign are recorded. A detailed record of the spp. of flies taken in fly-traps during the season is reported. Control measures included removal of manure and use of electric traps, insecticidal treatments, and fly traps. Where manure had to be stored out of doors, covering the pile of manure with a black canvas for a week resulted in destruction of all maggots and the manure was not reinfested following exposure.
