Abstract
A case of infectious mononucleosis directly complicated by a bilateral pleural effusion is reported. It is believed to be the first such case reported. Diagnosis was established by the clinical course, a rising heterophile agglutination test, a positive Davidsohn exclusion test, and the absence of evidence of other disease including repeatedly negative tuberculin skin test. The patient completely recovered. Keywords
