Abstract
A modification of the Lecompte operation is reported in which thepulmonary valve is preserved. This technique is applicable in certainanomalies of ventriculoarterial connection with ventricular septal defectand subpulmonary stenosis. The main advantage of this modification, besidespreservation of growth potential of the translocated pulmonary artery, consists of preservation of pulmonary valve function, which may have abeneficial effect on the long-term preservation of right ventricularcompliance.
