A multichamber water bath was designed and built for use in temperature studies where solution volumes in excess of 1 liter and a range of temperatures were needed. Requirements of the bath were an external heat source and heat sink with proper heat conduction between chambers, stirring to insure temperature equilibrium within each chamber, aeration, and external insulation to prevent heat loss or gain. Paraffin-coated bottoms of styrafoam acid shipping cartons were used as the main body of the bath. This bath is versatile, inexpensive, and has utility in biological, chemical, and physical experiments.
