Inherent damping, solvability conditions, and solutions for structural vibration control

Abstract
This paper examines the significance of damping and finite modeling assumptions in the solution of vibration control problems. It shown that practical solutions are impossible unless sufficiently large inherent damping is assumed. Explicit formulas are developed for the required damping characteristics.Keywords
