Energy‐ and Weight‐Loss Functions for Decomposing Foliage in Birch and Aspen Forests in Interior Alaska

Abstract

Linear relationships were established for energy loss as a function of weight loss for birch, aspen, and alder foliage. Half times for weight loss ranged from 555 days to 651 days. Half times for energy loss ranged from 604 to 720 days.
