Abstract
Bite-Mark EvidenceFew subjects within the domain of forensic odontology have received as much attention within recent years as bite-mark evidence. In such situations the bite-mark pattern may be looked upon as somewhat comparable to an ante-mortem dental record — i.e., as a chart or mirror-image "cast" of a person's dentition. In comparison to modern elastomeric impression compounds, we are, of course, dealing with relatively poor "impression materials" when it comes to the soft skin of a battered baby, a sexually assaulted woman or a half-eaten banana, left behind with a culprit's tooth prints.
