Abstract
Two adult patients are presented whose childhood amblyopia improved markedly when the sound eye became cataractous. In each case, the amblyopic eye became the preferred eye for fixation, allowing each patient to temporarily delay cataract surgery. Most remarkably, the acuity improvement has been sustained for greater than 2 years in each patient after full visual rehabilitation of the sound eye by cataract extraction. Keywords
