Abstract
In a series of 2,988 operations for duodenal ulcer, wound disruption occurred in 67, or 2.2%. Disruption occurred more frequently in the older age groups and in those who had emergency operation for hemorrhage (6.2%). Wound infection, pneumonia, and intestinal obstruction were factors in disruption. The death rate in those who had wound disruption was 11.9%.Keywords
