Abstract
Eight absorption bands have been observed in the infra-red spectrum of C . Seven of these are believed to be fundamental bands and have been identified as follows; the symmetry species of the band being given in parentheses: , , , , , and . A band of species is observed at 2945 . It is identified as and from this it is inferred that . Rotational constants for the normal state are found to be and . From these values the values A and ∠(F-C-S)=107° are obtained assuming that A and ∠(H-C-H)=110°.
