Abstract
There is a graded curvilinear relationship between antidiuretic hormone (vasopressin) and the renal tubular reabsorption of water in continuously water-loaded adult men. Vasopressin was given intravenously at various constant rates; the difference between the free water clearance during maximal water diuresis and the free water clearance during a vasopressin infusion (A Ch2O) represents the rate of renal tubular reabsorption of water resulting from the vasopressin. Data can be expressed by several types of regression equation, the most physiologically meaningful of which is thought to be of the form [image].Keywords
