Abstract
Deaths in children [4] ranging in age from 5 wk to 3 yr were examined. These cases are described individually, with particular emphasis on the mechanism by which the children ingested the drug. In all 4 cases, methadone was quantitated in the blood of the deceased. One of the infants received methadone through breast milk, thereby raising a question as to the advisability of methadone-maintained mothers continuing a breast-feeding regimen. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
