Abstract
Eight groups of birds con-taining approximately 100 birds each were experimentally infected with Mycoplasma gallisepticum at 1 day or 14 days of age. The percentage isolation of M. gallisepticum from the tracheas was highest 2 weeks after inoculation. A sharp decline occurred when the chicks were 8 weeks old, and this persisted during the 35- to 38-week experimental period. A low egg-transmission rate of M. gallisepticum occurred in all groups infected early. All isolations were M. gallisepticum. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
