Zufallsbefunde an zwölf asymptomatischen Patienten mit Histoplasmoseherden in der Milz erlaubten es, die Progredienz der Veränderungen bis zur Verkalkung zu verfolgen. Das ist bei Personen aus endemischen Histoplasmosegebieten die weitaus häufigste Form der Verkalkung in diesem Organ. Es kommt während der Primärinfektion der Histoplasmose in der Lunge zu einer frühzeitigen hämatogenen Streuung mit der Bildung von Granulomen in der Milz, weniger häufig in der Leber. Komplikationen wurden nicht beobachtet. Twelve cases of incidentally found histoplasmotic foci in the liver are described; it was possible to follow the progression of these changes to the stage of calcification. The described form of splenic calcification is the most frequent one in persons from endemic histoplasmosic areas. During the primary infection in the lung there is an early haematogenous spread with formation of granulomata in the spleen less frequently in the liver. No complications were observed. Focos cálcicos histoplásticos en el bazo Los hallazgos casuales en doce pacientes asintomáticos con focos de histoplasmosis en el bazo permitieron seguir el progresivo avance de las alteraciones hasta la calcificación en este órgano. Durante la primera infección de la histoplasmosis en el pulmón aparece una diseminación hematógena precoz con formación de granulomas en el bazo y con menos frecuencia en el hígado. No se observaron complicaciones.
