Abstract
Evidence that bubbles can cause annular nucleation and subsequent crystal growth on the surface of Bao‐Al2O3‐TiO2‐SiO2, glasses is presented. The crystalline rings were identified as hexacelsian, BaAl2Si2O8 (the hexagonal or high‐temperature polymorph of celsian). Size, character, and suggestions as to the genesis of these rings are given. Keywords
