Abstract
A method is described for staining nerves in whole, cleared specimens of fishes using Sudan Black B. Specimens are macerated with trypsin, stained with Sudan Black B dissolved in ethanol, and stored in glycerine. Advantages of this method over the Sihler method are that both fresh and museum specimens can be used, staining and destaining are very rapid, only a weak KOH solution is used, and decalcification is not required making subsequent staining of bone possible. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
