Abstract
Comparative immunohistochemical localization of .gamma.-melanocyte stimulating hormone (.gamma.-MSH) and ACTH1-24 was studied on bovine and human pituitaries. By the combination of peroxidase labeled antibody method and mirror sections, .gamma.-MSH and ACTH were present in the same cells in pars distalis and in pars intermedia or zona intermedia of the bovine and human pituitaries, respectively. The concept of the production of precursor molecule for these peptides in pars distalis and in pars (zona) intermedia was supported. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
