Using Landau-Ginzburg-Wilson Hamiltonians and renormalization-group arguments, it is shown that , the exponent characterizing the critical behavior of magnetoelectric susceptibility tensor elements in the region immediately below the antiferromagnetic ordering temperature, is equal to , the critical exponent of the staggered magnetization.
