Anisotropic Thermal Diffusion in Nematic APAPA

Abstract
The influence of the proximity to an interface on the thermal conduction in nematic p-anisylidene p-aminophenylacetate (APAPA) is analyzed using the experimental data on the thermal conductivity. The ordering influence of the interface extends to a distance of 143.3μ which is considerably greater than values previously obtained for PAA.
