Abstract
Isolated colonic pseudoobstruction [in humans] can occur in 2 forms, acute and chronic. Acute colonic pseudoobstruction is a transient problem that is usually associated with sytemic illnesses. Chronic colonic pseudoobstruction usually recurs or persists. It may occur with or without underlying systemic diseases. Clinical manifestation and treatment of each form is different. Therefore, these 2 syndromes should be dealt with differently. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
