Abstract
Interest in the use of ambulatory monitoring systems to evaluate sleep/wake disorders in the home environment is growing. Sewitch and Kupfer (1,2) recently compared the Oxford-Medilog 9000 and the Telediagnostic System with conventional inlaboratory polysomnography on 24 normal sleepers and concluded that both ambulatory systems reliably reflected standard sleep parameters. To date, no published studies have reported the use of either ambulatory system with a large clinical population. This article reports on the feasibility of using the Oxford-Medilog 9000 to evaluate a variety of sleep/wake disorders in both the home and hospital environment. Keywords
