Abstract
Magnetic properties of the ternary rare earth intermetallics are discussed on example of three groups of compounds RNi2X2, RNiX2 and RNiX (R-rare earth metal, TX = Si, Ge). RNi2X2 compounds crystallize in a tetragonal where RNiX2 and RNiX in orthorhombic structures. The magnetic phase diagrams (H, T) determined for some of these compounds. The magnetic properties are analyzed in terms of the RKKY exchange interactions and crystal electric field effects. Keywords
