Abstract
The cutaneous lesions of the hereditary defect in phagocyte function, chronic granulomatous disease of childhood, are illustrated. Skin lesions are an early manifestation of this syndrome and prompt recognition may favorably influence the course of this serious condition, hence dermatologists should be familiar with the types of lesions presented and their complications. In addition, the nature of the lesions and the overall disease process illustrate the role that phagocytes may play in the cutaneous defense system. Keywords
