Abstract
To the Editor: Liver-biopsy findings in amiodarone treatment have revealed the presence of Mallory bodies and micronodular cirrhosis and a resemblance to alcoholic liver disease.1 2 3 However, a review of the literature revealed only one death from cirrhosis that was attributable to amiodarone hepatotoxicity.3 We report a case of fatal cirrhosis in a man treated with amiodarone for approximately one year.A 68-year-old man with refractory ventricular tachycardia was begun on amiodarone in April 1984.
