Abstract
This paper describes the use of the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) in the treatment of a person recovering from a depressive episode. Based on the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance, the COPM focuses occupational therapy intervention on the enhancement of performance in the areas of self-care, leisure and productivity. The COPM is client rated and client-centred; the client defines the specifics of treatment and measures the outcome. In the case presented the client's occupational performance and satisfaction with occupational performance increased as measured by the COPM. The therapist's role in the use of the COPM is discussed. Keywords
