Abstract
In this article the authors discuss the consequences of the “deindustrialization” of America for the health benefits coverage of the U.S. population, the majority of which receive their health benefits through their workplace. The shift of employment from industry to services, from union to nonunion, from full-time to part-time employment, and from high-paying to low-paying jobs is having a most profound impact on the health benefits coverage of the U.S. population. Keywords
