Abstract
In vitro growth of tubercle bacilli was inhibited by 0.25 mg. per ml. of p-aminosalicylic acid (PAS), whereas much greater concns. were required for all other bacteria tested. The action against tubercle bacilli was antagonized by p-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), whereas 2 mutant strains of Escherichia coli used utilized either PAS or PABA for growth. Keywords
