Excavations in 1984 and 1985 at the Neolithic village of 'Ain Ghazal, Jordan, have greatly increased our understanding of the ritual and ceremonial aspects of the PPNB inhabitants of the site, including two more caches of plaster human statuary. There are close parallels with Jericho in terms of human representation and burial practices.
