Abstract
In a recent communication, we presented a classification of disclinations in pentagonal quasicrystals that readily allowed the calculation of the phonon and phason fields that surround such a defect. In this report, we present the pairwise interaction energy of disclinations in pentagonal quasicrystals. Since interactions between disclinations may govern the behavior of an orientationally ordered, but otherwise translationally disordered ‘‘pentahedratic’’ phase, the energy of such interactions is of interest. Keywords
