Abstract
This paper describes the imaging results of a three-dimensional underwater system. The system is based on Holographic Sonar Imaging which combines the techniques of sonar and acoustical computer holography. The underwater experiments are done using formed stylol and a bicycle wheel as the targets. The real-time image reconstruction method of this system is also proposed. This method utilizes an acoustic lens and introduces the concept of synthesizing the image holograms. The possibility of real-time image reconstruction and obtaining a high resolution image are shown by computer simulation.
