Abstract
The distensibility characteristics of the forearm vascular capacitance bed have been studied in 18 resting normal subjects by a slow venous occlusion technique, and a wide range of distensibility was found. Neuromuscular blockade had no effect on distensibility, and sympathetic blockade increased distensibility. Keywords
