Abstract
The chemical composition of isolated human hair melanosomes was studied. It was found that hair melanosomes contained 60.54 ± 3.99% of melanin which puts them among the most melanized particles. The amino acid analysis revealed all 18 usual amino acids in the hydrolysate, whereas DOPA could not be found. These data were compared with those of melanosomes isolated from human malignant melanoma. Keywords
