Abstract
We have used the wave matching technique to calculate the reflection coefficients of meteor trains for radio waves and have compared the numerical results obtained with those given by the important approximate theories. We have paid particular attention to maximum reflection coefficients and echo durations as functions of electron line density and considered also the effects of forward-scatter geometry and plasma resonance. In addition to the giant resonance discovered by Lebedinec and Sosnova we have found a second resonance corresponding to the quadrupole mode. Keywords
