Abstract
SUMMARY: The effect of nitrogen and sulphur application and seed inoculation on the yield of beans (Vicia faba) was studied at two locations in 1979–80 and 1980–1. Nitrogen was applied at flowering, whereas sulphur was applied as foliar applications in elemental form, several times during the growth cycle of plants or only once at four different growth stages. Results showed high and significant increases in yield, particularly when the three treatments were combined. Results additionally suggested that a single application of sulphur at 45 days after emergence was as effective as four separate applications. Keywords
