WARM-HEARTED and open-minded physicians sympathize with the intent of two resolutions recently presented to the Council of the Massachusetts Medical Society urging that "physicians be encouraged to treat narcotic addicts 'in the best way they know' " and that the Legislature repeal the present statutory requirement that "the name, address, height, weight, date of birth, color of eyes, and hair, date treated and the name of the narcotic drug must be reported within 72 hours to the Department of Public Health."
