Production of Antibody to Homologous α-Fetoprotein in Rabbits, Rats and Horses by Immunization with Human α-Fetoprotein

Abstract

Rabbits, rats, horses and a dog were immunized with purified human α-fetoprotein. High titered antibodies were produced except in the case of the dog. The rabbit, rat and horse antibodies cross-reacted with their own homologous α-fetoprotein. Attempts to produce antibody with homologous α-fetoprotein in rabbits, rats and dogs were not successful.
